Our Team

Veterinarian / Owner
Dr. Suzanne Tate graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. She has owned Troy Veterinary Hospital since 2008.
Dr. Tate has wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of eight. As a young owner of pocket pets such as mice, rats, and guinea pigs, she found that most vets at that time didn't know much about them. This motivated her to take a special interest and additional classes in pocket pets during veterinary school. One of the things she finds most rewarding about her job is helping people to really understand their pet's health needs and treatment options.
Her genuine concern for every pet that comes through our doors, coupled with her kindness and patience, contributes to the high standard of care at Troy Veterinary Hospital.
Sue currently shares her home with her husband Kevin, her Patterdale terrier Pretty, and her cat DD. In her free time she enjoys gourmet cooking, gardening, and orchids.

Licensed Veterinary Technician
Katlyn has been with Troy Veterinary Hospital since 2009. She graduated from Macomb Community College's Vet Tech program and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Siena Heights University in Health Care Management. She shares her home with her husband Matt, their three kids, a Siberian Husky Saphira, and a Labrador Retriever Brix. What she finds most enjoyable about work is helping the family member that can't say too much.

Licensed Veterinary Technician
Nikki has been with Troy Veterinary Hospital since 2011. She loves helping animals stay healthy and happy. She currently shares her home with 4 rescue cats and is part caretaker of a yellow Labrador Retriever Normandy. She works as a pastoral associate of worship at a local church. She is an avid concert goer and enjoys walking, watching football, hockey and baseball, and is a big Wolverine fan!

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant
Katie has been with Troy Veterinary Hospital since 2013. She started in the back as a Veterinary Assistant but continued to develop her skills in all aspects of the hospital, landing in her main role as the main receptionist. She loves all animals and loves greeting all the critters who come in. Currently she has a cat at home named Shifa.

Head Receptionist
Brianna started working at Troy Veterinary Hospital in January 2021. She graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She loves welcoming in all of the clients and patients alike, as well as learning all about the science behind their care. Miniature Dachshunds are one of her favorite breeds. She is our prescription food expert and handles all the pet food orders and inventory. She also volunteers with a nonprofit that visits children with pediatric cancer and other terminal illnesses as their favorite princesses and superheroes.

Veterinary Assistant
Hailey became a Vet Assistant at Troy Veterinary Hospital in September 2007. Knowing she can make a difference and contributing toward happily ending stories are two of the things she finds most rewarding about her job. She has a Shih Tzu named Goldie and a cat named Pepper. Hailey enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters, rollerblading, and being outdoors.

Veterinary Assistant / Animal Caregiver
Gavin is our newest team member and hard working animal caregiver/veterinary assistant. He is a recent graduate of the Ross veterinary assistant program. When he is not at work he spends time reading, watching movies with his father, or wandering with his Chihuahua mix Bitsy.

Customer Service Receptionist
Erin is one of our customer service receptionists. She grew up loving animals all her life and spent many years dog sitting since she was a teenager. She loves spending her days with her husband and pets. She has a sassy 14 year old Lhasa Apso Russel and cat Gepetto. She likes to travel and do crafts, crocheting, or jewelry making.
